I have tried to hard reset my computer due to it not turning on. It still doesn't not turn on. I've tried plugging in the ac adapter cord to a wall outlet instead of the extension and still nothing. The charging light turns on when plugged in and the battery was at full charge when it decided to shut off. When I push the power button it doesn't make any noise to indicate it has started, no fan or anything. Is there anything I can do to fix it? Or is it a paper weight now and I've lost everything?2

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.
- When was the last time the computer was working fine?
- Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
- Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?
While you respond to that, I recommend you perform a power reset following the below steps.
- Turn off the computer.
- Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.
- Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices, such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.
- Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.
- Remove the battery from the battery compartment.
- Press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds to drain residual electrical charge from the capacitors that protect the memory.
- Insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the notebook, but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.
- Press the Power button to turn on the computer.
- On the Options screen, select Continue and continue to Windows 10.
- If a startup menu opens, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows Normally, then press the Enter key.
- Reconnect each of the peripheral devices.
If you continue facing the issue, I recommend you follow the steps in the below article and check if it helps.

I tried those steps and I also tried to do a BIOS restart as well and my computer is still unresponsive. I've tested my battery and AC adapter to make sure it is working properly and they both are. I've come to the conclusion that something went wrong with my motherboard, so I will have to trash my laptop sadly. I appreciate the help.

It is great to have you back and your patience is greatly appreciated.
If you have already checked the battery and the adapter then it confirms a hardware malfunction.
I recommend you contact HP phone support to check the available service options for your computer.
Here is how you can get in touch with the phone support.
1)Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/
2)Select the product type.
3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.
4)Select the country from the drop-down.
5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

Cheers!
