When I plug a USB-C charging cable into the USB-C port on the laptop, the laptop won't charge. If I plug the USB cord into an adapter on the wall, simply nothing happens. If I plug in the cord to a power bank, I get a notification saying "The AC Adapter is not compatible with this system."
This is what appears when I plug a power bank into USB-C

Hi @AJWu27,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your Victus by HP 16.1 Inch Gaming Laptop is not charging when using a USB-C connection, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Check the Charger and Cable: Make sure you're using a USB-C charger and cable that are capable of delivering sufficient power for your laptop. Not all USB-C chargers and cables are created equal, and some might not provide enough power for gaming laptops.
- Inspect the USB-C Port: Check the USB-C port on both the laptop and the charger for any visible damage or debris that might be obstructing the connection. If there is dirt or debris, gently clean the port using compressed air or a soft brush.
- Try Different USB-C Ports: If your laptop has multiple USB-C ports, try using a different port to see if the issue is specific to one port.
- Update Drivers and Firmware: Make sure that your laptop's firmware and drivers are up to date. Sometimes, updating these components can resolve compatibility issues and improve charging performance.
- Power Delivery Compatibility: Ensure that your USB-C charger and laptop support Power Delivery (PD). Power Delivery is a technology that negotiates power requirements between devices. Some laptops might require a specific power level or profile for charging.
- BIOS/UEFI Settings: In some cases, there might be BIOS/UEFI settings that affect how the laptop charges via USB-C. Check the laptop's user manual or manufacturer's website for guidance on any relevant settings.
- Power Draw and Usage: Depending on your laptop's specifications and usage, the USB-C connection might not provide enough power to charge the laptop while it's under heavy load (such as gaming). Try charging the laptop while it's powered off or during light usage to see if it charges in those scenarios.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

I've tried all that, but all I want to be able to do is charge my laptop on the go using a power bank connected to the laptop with USB-C, but it simply wont work. The power bank and cable are 65w, so I should be getting enough power, but the laptop still won't charge. The power bank will charge other devices perfectly fine.
