This bios update sp141247.exe was just added to the drivers list for my machine. After downloading and running the bios update, the dialog box displays that the softpaq wrapper has finished installing. However, after rebooting, the system information displays the same bios version as i had installed before: F.36. The instructions don't indicate the bios needs to be installed differently, perhaps this update fails to disable bitlocker like the previous bios updates have done.

Hello, i solved the problem.

To recap, as i mentioned, the softpaq installer did not work.

I used the application "HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows 1.8.2.0" >> the completed these steps:

Components Test >> BIOS-System Firmware>>Check box Bios-System Firmware Update >> Run

The app detected the BIOS was out of date and updated the BIOS, >> Restarted and the update was properly applied.

Hello @Sup1J

Great to hear.

However, it is still unclear why the official update cannot be installed. Software bug !

This question can only be answered by a grinning HP technician...

Good luck
