Dear HP Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

I’m writing to ask for your guidance regarding my HP Spectre Folio (13.3”, Cognac Brown Leather). Over time, the leather exterior has developed some dark stains and discoloration, which I believe may have resulted from environmental exposure or handling.

I understand that this device uses genuine leather, and I appreciate the craftsmanship and design. However, I would like to ask:
1. Are there any officially recommended cleaning or restoration methods or products for maintaining the leather?
2. Can HP provide care instructions specific to this model’s leather to avoid further damage?
3. In the case that the leather cannot be restored at home, is there any replacement part (like a leather chassis or cover) that can be ordered through HP or an authorized service provider?

I would greatly appreciate any advice or resources you can provide. The device is very important to me, and I’d love to maintain it in the best condition possible.

To ensure the best results over the life of your HP Spectre Folio, follow these guidelines for cleaning and maintaining its leather cover:

1. Use a Soft Microfiber Cloth: Clean the cover gently with a soft microfiber cloth to avoid scratching the leather surface.
2. Avoid Harmful Cleaning Products: Do not use cleaning products that contain alcohol, ammonia, chlorine, acetone, turpentine, or other mineral spirits, as these can damage the leather.
3. Protect from Sun and Moisture: Avoid exposing the cover to direct sunlight or moisture for extended periods.
4. Dry Properly: If the leather gets wet, dry it by gently dabbing with an absorbent lint-free cloth.
5. Avoid Sharp Objects: Keep the leather away from sharp objects or rough surfaces that may scratch it.
6. Prevent Discoloration: Avoid contact with substances that may dye or discolor the leather, such as ink or lipstick.

Note: HP does not recommend applying leather protectant or sealant products to the leather cover.
