HP Notebook - 17-ca1065cl

Left hinge started separately at the corner just approximately 3-4 weeks ago and getting worse. Do not want to close the screen as it binds up more. We spoke with a staff member at Costco who shared it was still under warranty as we purchased with Citibank CC. However, we spoke with concierge and shared one year warranty with HP and only one more year with Citibank.  We purchases 6/24/2020 (warrant expired - ugh) and appears this has been a known issue from a post I read from 2019.  Should we have received some notification of this recall from Costo, Citibank or both?? Is there anything HP is doing to help resolve this issue? Can the hinge assembly be replaced and solve the issue? Please please help and give direction. Thank you in advance.

Hi @Laptop_Unhinged,

Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are facing hinge issues with your HP product.

This could be a hardware issue with the unit and may need repair.

I suggest that you contact HP Service Center in your location from this web link.
Note: Select your country from the dropdown,  enter the city or postal code, select the product, change the radius, and click on search to locate the nearest HP Service center near your location.

Hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
