The left hinge of my laptop is broken and has slightly opened the lcd back cover, and i am unable to close the lid because of it aswell. The laptop has'nt been mishandled.

Is the notebook still in warranty, as in perhaps a Care pack?
We do not get into any warranty discussions.
That is between HP and yourself.

Outside of warranty, getting it fixed for free is pretty unlikely.
If you have some tech skills you can purchase the required parts and fix it yourself.
You could also have a laptop shop do it if you don't feel comfortable doing the workyourself.
What are your expectations?
I can provide you with a link to the Maintenence and service guide or the applicable HP PartSurfer web page where available parts are listed by nomenclature and part number.
