As I said before, you would have to contact HP Support to verify your question. There is no image available that I can find for that specific heatsink to show if its solid or not.
I did find a similar heatsink and it shows it is solid (no fins), Apparently the air flows around the sides and exhausts the main vent on the case. So I assume your laptop is as its supposed to be.
If it is not overheating, you have no problems then.

Hello talha_asad
It would not make sense for the Heat Sink vent to be closed.
I assume when you say new, it is brand new.
Page 68 of the manual gives an illustration of the heat sink and fan.

If your new laptop is not working properly or if it is overheating rapidly due to the vent being blocked or the fan not turning, you should contact HP Support immediately for warranty issues.

Hello,thanks for replying.
I bought brand new laptop which is working perfectly nor it gets heated.
The picture explians that the left side vents are closed. In addition to this there are no vents on tha back of laptop for heat removel.Im suprised as well worried that there is no source for heat removel, but laptop dont get heated maybe it is brand new thats why.
Kindly tell me that they are permanently closed or not? How to fix?
Thanks!
