I've recently (November 2020) purchased a new HP Envy 13-ba0010na laptop.
One thing I've noticed is that the lid switch function doesn't appear to work.
Windows 10 is setup to sleep on lid close in the power settings.
When I close the lid, the fan keeps going until it sleeps automatically after about 10 minutes (which I think is the default timeout on battery power)
After that, when I open the lid, I have to press the power button to wake the laptop back up out of sleep.
This doesn't appear to be solely a Windows 10 issue. This also happens on Linux making me believe it's either a bios issue or the lid switch hardware is broken.
Any Ideas? Thanks.
