Hello,
The Mute Button on my keyboard (the F6 key) works and serves it purpose by muting and unmuting the volume. The Red light on that key however does not work. It used to work before but suddenly it has stopped working.
Thanks in advance.

Hello @kamalthakur,
Reinstalling the audio driver will most likely do the trick.
Realtek High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp80501-81000/sp80538.exe
Description:
This package provides the driver for the Realtek High-Definition (HD) Audio in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system.

I have had this same problem. At first I could restart the system and it would light again. That no longer works. Re-installing the drivers has not worked. Since multiple people have this problem, is it something that needs to be fixed by HP? If so, how do they get the message?

@Barbara-B Windows updates usually break functionality.
The most common solution to this issue, which I didn't seem to include for some reason, is to open Device Manager, expand Sound, video and game controllers, and then either Disable -> Enable the sound entity or uninstall the drivers -> Reboot.
HP most likely knows about this issue and tries to update audio drivers or hotkey drivers accordingly.
Hope this helps,
Eddy

Let me know how it goes.Kind regards,Eddy
Thank you thank you thank you!
I've had this problem for ages - I can either use the "High Definition Audio Device" driver for good audio but no mute LED light functionality, OR I can use "Realtek High Definition Audio" driver and get awful (and I mean AWFUL) audio quality but a working mute LED.
Previously, I solved the issue by installing a really old Realtek driver from 2016, so I could have the best audio AND the working LED, but this was undone by the latest Windows 10 update and I couldn't get that driver to work again.
This solution however, fixed my issue. It also installed the DTS Audio Manager (basically the Realtek Audio Manager) which I've been looking to install for a while now as well - for some reason no other Realtek Driver came with this!
So basically what I'm trying to say is this fix killed two birds with one stone and now I'm a very happy man.
I hope more people have this fix work for them too!
