Local disk D is not showing

Hi, my hp notebook is not showing the local disk D, whereas i have recently copied some of my pdf files there and pinned some folders also. Those pinned folders in that D drive are showing but when i click on them, it says that the path is not valid or it may have been moved.  This PC folder is also showing only C local disk, how do i get my laptop to know that there is that D disk? I have some important files stored there and i need it for my university work.
