Hello everyone. I have a HP 15-db0186AU Notebook with Ryzen 3/4gb ram/Win10. Before getting this notebook, I was under the impression that it had dual storage, SATA HDD and an empty m.2 slot. But I am having difficulty figuring out where exactly is the m.2 slot located? I checked the service manual and it seems to show the m.2 slot in the same location as the HDD (I am confused now...??)
Attaching pic of the laptop back panel opened up. Would help a lot if someone could highlight the m.2 slot in this pic. And also if the m.2 slot on the motherboard takes a B key, M key or a B+M key for the SSD?? If m.2 is not possible then I will just swap out the HDD for a 2.5 inch SATA based SSD.

Hello @Salman27
Im having trouble finding your exact model number. Are you sure you copied it down correctly?
Its not to say it doesnt exist, Its a new model and HP may have missed listing it.
Anyways for that series, yes the manual states it could possibly have Dual storage configurations (Ryzen, Athlon, and A9 processors). Although I cannot look your model up so I dont know exactly what yours is.
Pages 2-3 show it can take either sata or NVMe. So its compatible with both types.
The manual does not point out where the M.2 slot is located unfortunately, with the exception of the HDD tray adapter.
But looking at your photo, could the red outlined port be the M.2 slot and the screw hole below it? Im guessing thats where its at. It doesnt appear with the pins and slot showing as most do, but there is another style of port that is similar and I believe thats what you have.

@Photoray002 Oops, guess I made a small typo. The correct model number is "15-db0186AU" and it's NOT "15-db1086AU" which I mentioned earlier. I've edited the first comment as well. But my earlier question still stands though. The part you circled out caught my attention earlier as well, I wasn't completely sure if that was the m.2 port because it didn't look like one to me. Just wanted to make sure before making any SSD purchase, I am looking at Samsung 970 Evo Plus. Planned to also max out the motherboard's RAM capacity as well.

I saw that type of slot on an older Omen once. It wasn't staggered with pins showing like you're thinking. It was flat edged and the pins were inside. You didnt angle the drive into it. It slipped straight in. Im thinking that's what you might have.
Look down at the side edge and see if you see the pins and slot key on the inside of the slit.
