My laptop’s (HP Omen 15-ce003nx) keyboard has been having an issue where one key will type multiple letters. It is definitely not a software problem since there is no pattern. Numeric keys are disabled, keyboard languages and drivers are fine. Sometimes keys will auto type.
Shift will type qX
8 will type 8i and pressing i will type 8i as well.
9 will type 9o and pressing o will type 9o as well.
this is the same for all number keys, they type the number and the letter adjacent to it, and the same for the corresponding letters near the number keys.
Ive disassembled my laptop and the first thing I will try is to wipe any dust off the strip that connects the keyboard to the motherboard.
what I need help with is identifying which ribbon connector is the one that connects the keyboard to the motherboard.
Help would be appreciated. It would be even better if someone made a red circle on the picture
