HP Pavilion Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When runnning the HP Hardware Diagnostic, I get a Long Drive and a Short Drive Self Test Failure.  On the test log, there is no error code, it just states that "This diagnostic test appears to be corrupted".  What is corrupted?  The hard drive or the diagnostic test?  I get the same message for both the Long Drive failure and the short drive failure.

Thanks........

Hi:

If your notebook is working normally, most likely the diagnostics test is not working properly.

Normally if either or both tests fail, they produce a 24 character error code, and normally, you are experiencing issues with your notebook from freezing up, to not booting up at all.

However, leave nothing to chance, and back up any files you don't want to lose in case the hard drive is on its way out.

Thanks for the input.  My computer is working - I will back up my files as a "just in case" but I sure wish I knew why the diagnostic tool from HP is not working.....hmmmmmm.
