HP Victus 16-r0545nd
Microsoft Windows 11

My son has a HP victus 16-r0545nd laptop. He would like a docking station for it. As his laptop has an adapter op 230W I noticed that most docking stations can not supply that amount of power.

What would happen if I connect the original power supply to the laptop and connect a docking station to the USB-c port which probably also comes with a power supply function. Does that bite each other?

And which docking station would you recommend?

Other constructive suggestions are more than welcome!

Hi @GeertGroote41

nothing happens, when AC is connected. However, there are dock that only send power while connected to a power supply.

About the dock it depends, you can buy any brand, you should check what kind of external display you are going to connect and verify the resolution of the dock ports, verify the Ethernet connector, speed, etc, it is up to you to investigate what you need.
