Hi,

If you look on page 73 of service manual under heading

"For use in HP Notebook models (UMA graphics memory; non-touch screen):"

you can see all the compatible motherboards. So, you could actually upgrade from an i3 CPU to an i7.

For example the 854934-001 with i7 6500U
