EliteBook 8770w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Greetings!

My name is Steve and I am new to these forums....

I want to thank each and everyone of you experts for any and all advice you can possibly provide me in advance!

I just received a used 8770w EliteBook

It has an intel i5 - 3320m cpu

I was looking to see if I could upgrade to an i7.....

It seems there are differnet motherboards for this model....from what I was able to come up with my motherboard is the 176C board.

What is the fastest i7 I could upgrade this laptop too, without having to modify any heating and cooling devices.

Thank you all in advance!

Steve

Page 1 of the following manual shows you many options

    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c03579708.pdf

You can use 45W processor but please upgrade BIOS before changing CPU. The manual also shows you step-by-step how to replace processor from page 112

Regards.
