I am looking for an official replacement battery for my HP Spectre x360 - 15bl002ng. The HP PartSurfer website does not even list the part number or model required for this notebook. Are there any official ways to source a replacement battery for this device via HP? Or is the expectation nowadays to order one of the many no-name batteries and hope for the best?
Thanks!

From the Maintenance & Service guide there are two options. Use the part number as a keyword in an online search to find a replacement battery
https://kaas.hpcloud.hp.com/pdf-public/pdf_7660048_en-US-1.pdf
Description HP Part Number
6 cell, 83 Whr M41711-005
4 cell, 70 Whr M39179-005
Only purchase batteries with the HP part number and a one year warranty from a reputable online vendor

Thanks for the quick reply, but unless I am missing something the link you posted is for a completely different notebook. I cannot find a similar document for mine. Searching for the mentioned part numbers just confirms this more and these batteries look different from the one I have in my notebook.

You are right about that. I am not perfect. I own my mistakes. I was raised to be that way.
I may have had too many tabs open in one of the two browsers I had open.
Thanks for the save and for providing the author with accurate information, that somehow I managed not to provide.

@Erico No worries at all!
@Dragon-Fur this looks like what I was looking for, thanks!
Still disappointing that HP does not offer these parts from their end and I have to rely on third parties which may or may not be reliable. Did find a seemingly endless amount of "vendors" selling it, but most of them I would not exactly call reputable.

You are welcome.
HP is not a battery manufacturer - keeping piles and piles of batteries on hand for purchase is not equitable, I think.
I don't remember the last time I purchased an HP branded battery.
I've had good luck with Amazon -- but, of course, Amazon does not manufacture batteries either...
Meh - I've done it more than once. Smiling.
Sorry about stomping all over the thread -- I'm writing cards and decided to shove this in "quick and go".
What happened?
I've run across this before where the document provided is just not the right one -
Check the Product Description page (Page 1 in the document).
I don't always catch it either.
