Hi! My touchpad has started to act really weirdly and sometimes not working at all, this has happened on multiple operation systems all of which it has worked perfectly for previously which has led me to draw the conclusion that it's a hardware problem. Therefore I am looking for a replacement for the touchpad but have been unable to find it or any other spare parts for the laptop on the partsurfer page. Does anyone know if there is any such spare part available and I have just been unable to find it or is there another laptop which uses the same touchpad? Thanks in advance.

And as mentioned in my first post, you can use the HP Parts store to order these parts for touchpad replacement or simply google the part number, and order it on any of the local online stores such as Amazon or eBay, etc.

@Vidde Greetings from the HP Community!
Before you conclude that this is a hardware issue , I suggest you attempt using an alternate/external mouse.
(If that works when the touchpad is disabled on Synaptic software, it would mean that it's a touchpad failure,
However, if the external mouse doesn't work either, it could be a software/driver issue).
Uninstall and reinstall the drivers for your mouse:
Go to the Device Manager and select your mouse. Uninstall it and then restart your computer. During restart, your mouse driver will automatically be reinstalled.
1. Click on Start and type ‘Device Manager’.
2. Click Device Manager.
3. Click + sign next to Mouse.
4. Right-click on mouse entry and choose "uninstall".
5. Restart your computer.
If you've confirmed that this is a hardware issue, you could replace the touchpad:
You may order the replacement parts on the HP Parts Store, use the HP Parts Surfer to find the part number and If you've already looked for it and couldn't find it on the HP Parts Store, you may want to get it locally at the online store such as Amazon or eBay, etc...as the part numbers are universal.
Keep us posted,

Hi @Riddle_Decipher!
Thanks for your answer, I'm rather sure that it is a hardware problem as it has been this way for several months and when it happened I rebooted to windows to see if the problem occured there as well (I normally run linux on the laptop) so I hardly believe it to be a driver issue.
So back to the problem which was replacing the touchpad. I have, as mentioned in my original post, been unable to find any replacement parts for this computer model or even this series (Pavillion Power). I've searched for everything from name to serial number but found nothing.
I suppose my only alternative is to search for the part number, how would I go about finding this?
Sincerely,
Vidar
