Hello everyone,

I have had my HP laptop for just under a year now and unfortunately the left hinge is becoming loose. I am aware this is a common issue with HP laptops and wondering is covered under the 1 year warranty to get it fixed, I am sure the problem will only get worse. I have a few weeks to go before I need to extend my warranty or not. Is the extended warranty the same coverage as the one you get for free upon purchase, therefore can I claim under that if I dont get it sorted quick?!

Thanks for any advice and guidance to this newbie 😕

Hi@muckleberry,

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Apologies for all the inconvenience

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,

I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. This sounds like hardware related issue with the hinge assembly and in order to fix this issue,  your computer needs to be serviced.  As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now.

I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options in order to diagnose the computer physically.  HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:  www.hp.com/contacthp/

I have a similar issue but mine broke and cracked the screen. HP will not fix it under warranty. They will claim user neglect. You will see when   says "I have escalated your issue to HP’s Support Team in your region" No one will contact you. Good luck if they do...
