Hi @Kudos24542,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If you always use your laptop plugged into a mains power source, the low battery warning is usually not critical for daily use. However, it does indicate that the battery is either:
- Very low in charge because it’s not charging properly, or
- Degraded and no longer holding a charge.
Even if you never use battery power, a failing battery can sometimes cause:
- Unexpected shutdowns if the power cable disconnects.
- Performance throttling on some HP models.
- Boot issues if the battery is completely dead.
What You Can Do
- Check Battery Health
- Press Win + X → Windows Terminal (Admin).
- Type:
- powercfg /batteryreport
- This creates a report in your user folder. Look for Design Capacity vs Full Charge Capacity.
- Run HP Diagnostics
- Press Esc repeatedly at startup → F2 System Diagnostics.
- Run the Battery Test.
- Or use HP Support Assistant: 👉 HP Support Assistant | HP® Support
- Update BIOS and Drivers
- Go to: 👉 Official HP® Support
- Install the latest BIOS and chipset updates.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
