Hi @Kudos24542,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If you always use your laptop plugged into a mains power source, the low battery warning is usually not critical for daily use. However, it does indicate that the battery is either:

  • Very low in charge because it’s not charging properly, or
  • Degraded and no longer holding a charge.

Even if you never use battery power, a failing battery can sometimes cause:

  • Unexpected shutdowns if the power cable disconnects.
  • Performance throttling on some HP models.
  • Boot issues if the battery is completely dead.

What You Can Do

  1. Check Battery Health
    • Press Win + X → Windows Terminal (Admin).
    • Type:
    • powercfg /batteryreport
    • This creates a report in your user folder. Look for Design Capacity vs Full Charge Capacity.

  2. Run HP Diagnostics
  3. Update BIOS and Drivers

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
