Hello febkosq8,

Were you replying to this thread? https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/M-2-Drive-type/m-p/6427691/hig...

Looks like it got moved.

If so, the laptop will support an M.2 SATA III SSD. (Also confirm that you have the slot in the center available)

Here's the manual: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05493257

Steps to replacement are located on page 58.

A highly recommended SSD that has a very good chance of compatibility is the Samsung 850 EVO: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-850-EVO-Internal-MZ-N5E250BW/dp/B00TGIVZTW

Hope this helps,

Eddy

Yes ,I was supposed to reply to that thread .Somehow ,a new one was created !

Thanks for the confimation for "laptop will support an M.2 SATA III SSD" .

Could you tell me where you found out the information ,that it supports M.2 SATA III SSD as i could not find it ?

Yes ,it do contains the slot for an M.2 (Personally Checked )

And it's an M Key one ,which i believe both m+b or m will work fine with .

Attached a photo of the post for M.2 M.2 SlotM.2 Slot

Thanks once more for the help and confirmation .

Hello febkosq8,

All the juicy details are in the manual posted above on page 3.

It clearly says: M.2 SATA-3 conƭigurations (TLC) (not for Intel Pentium Silver N5000/Celeron N4000 processors)

Kind regards,

Eddy

Post Scene /Update's: Brought a new M.2 SSD .Works perfectly .No problems yet .

The M.2 type i purchased is WDS120G1G0B .

https://www.cnet.com/products/wd-green-pc-ssd-wds120g1g0b-solid-state-drive-120-gb-sata-6gb-s/

Set-Up was quite easy thanks to the User Disassembly Manual .

Only a problem didnt get any extra screw with the laptop or find any screw with the M.2 Package .

So had to remove one of the motherboard screws and subsitute it for that .

Have A Nice Day
