I'm not the only one saying it.
If you know better, go ahead and install a 1 TB NVMe SSD in your notebook.
It won't matter 512 GB or 1 TB.
If the slot supports NVMe SSD's, it should support up to 2 TB.

As I wrote earlier...there is no written info that the M.2 slot supports NVMe SSD's of any capacity.
If you know for a fact that the slot supports NVMe drives...you can't just look at it and say it has one key, so it is NVMe, because all HP M.2 slots in all of their notebook's and desktop PC's look like they support NVMe SSD's.
Some support SATA only, some support NVMe only, and some support both.
Yes, the manual could be wrong, but I cannot find any posts where someone installed a NVMe SSD in that model series.
This is what I could find. All replies say SATA only.
I you found information that proves a NVMe SSD works in that model series, then if you want to install a 1 TB NVMe SSD, it should work.
The drive capacities listed in the service manual are just what HP offered in the model series, not the maximum capacity supported.
