HP Notebook - 15-ay008tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Is there M.2 NVME SSD Slot in HP 15-ay008tx so that it can run a little bit faster , as It has 5 years of using this notebook and it is kinda slow now.

It takes time to open some applications even folders also.

Or any other simple way I can make it faster?

And also battery drains a bit faster now, any help in that matter also

The notebook has a 2.5" SATA legacy hard drive installed.

There is no M.2 slot for you to use.

You can replace the legacy hard disk with a 2.5" SATA SSD. That will make the notebook much faster.

You won't believe it is the same notebook because of the performance increase.

At 5 years you definitely need to replace the battery with a new one.

Erico is absolutely right.  Put a 2.5" in there and the speed will increase dramatically.  NVMEs are nice because they allow you to put a larger HDD for file storage but realistically, unless a program tells you, you won't notice a speed difference between one and a 2.5" SSD in every day use.  I have multiple computers in my house and the older systems running 2.5" SSDs boot just as fast as the ones using NVME boot drives.  The 2.5" SSDs also run a little cheaper than the NVME drives so it will save you a little money.  If you're in the US, Newegg has the following 1TB, which is a good one, for $72.99 on sale right now:

As for speeding up the HDD in the meantime, you could try defragmenting the drive.  That may boost the speed a little and by little I mean very minimally.  It's still a good idea to do to a HDD every so often.  Don't do it to a SSD though.
