Pavilion Power 15-cb045wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to buy an M.2 NVme Samsung SSD for the boot of my Pavilion Power 15-cb045wm notebook.

I don't know which ones are compatible with my device and how much storage do I need for the boot to run smoothly and efficiently.

So, can you please guide and help me in deciding which one should I get for my laptop?

It'll be very kind of you if you list down all the available M.2 NVme Samsung SSD options that will work for me.

P.S:

I just found out that 970 Evo is one of the best options that I can buy, but will it be compatible with my laptop?

Yes it can accept a PCIe/NVME M.2 SSD 2280 form factor.

Service Manual

See p. 2. Start on p. 34 for bottom cover removal. Inside you see this:

You already have figured out the Samsung M.2 NVME SSD that would be best for you to use and is compatible. They make a 970 Evo, a 970 Evo Plus and a 970 Pro. The difference in these is price. The 970 Plus is being highly acclaimed by the tech press as just as fast as  Pro but much cheaper.

As far as minimum size you will note the Service Manual only speaks of a NVME M.2 up to 256 gigs. This is not a limitation. If your budget allows you can install any size you can find. I have definitely seen 2 TB versions of the 970 Evo. However, these are naturally expensive. The smallest I would get is a 250 gig and a 500 is the price versus capacity sweet spot.

I will look for the 250GB 970 EVO in the local market... Thank you so much!
