HP Pavilion 14-bf118tu , 8 gb ram , 256 gb ssd , i5 8th gen

Hi,

I want to upgrade the performance of my laptop by adding Nvme SSD.

Previously it has M.2 Sata ssd 256 GB. But on HP product specification website it shows PCIe NVMe 256 GB SSDScreenshot 2021-07-01 181338.png.

So I brought one Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVMe M.2 SSD. But when I take my laptop to the hp world store they said it does not support NVMe drive.

 

can anyone suggest me what is the right thing to do.

Hi:

 

According to chapter 1 of the service manual, your notebook's M.2 slot only supports SATA SSD's, not NVMe.

So, either the product specs are wrong, or the service manual and the HP technicians you spoke with are wrong.

 

I would have to side with the manual, and the folks at the HP store.
