HP Laptop - 14-fq0010nr
Microsoft Windows 10 in S Mode

I've tried to install more storage into my 14-fq0010nr using the m.2 slot on the board, but the system doesn't detect it. It's not in device manager, not in bios. I've installed all updates I can find on hp. Can't find ahci or raid in bios. Turned off security in bios. Am I missing something? Does the m.2 slot work on this model? Could i have a brand ssd DOA? can't find any information on this exact model. Just looking for a little help.

Hi,

I believe that in the models with the eMMC drive there is no option to install another drive

Hope it helps,

David

Hi, @Jerr4

This discussion jogged my memory regarding a similar situation that happened a while back.

Most HP notebooks with eMMC drives cannot have the storage upgraded.

However, this discussion indicates that you can install a SATA M.2 SSD in that model series that have the eMMC drives, and it will work.

Thank you for the responses. I will try a m.2 sata ssd to see if I can get it to work. Also ordered a usb to m.2 connector to check. Thanks again I will give updates soon as I get a chance.
