Yes I watched the video. I took a photo of the internals of my laptop and from what I see, it does have the connection port labelled no. 10 in the manual. Where do i fix the connector board after connecting it to the connector? Is there enough space for both the connector board and the ssd on the system board?

Is the position of connector board not clear in main board in the video?

I'm not able to view any videos at present.

I'll check it out later and tell you.

In the video, where the connector board is, is where my 2 TB HDD is connected. Which makes one other connector available for the ssd connector board( right next to it ). I am worried because the space for that seems too narrow and I might therefore have to replace my hdd with an ssd for storage and boot.

Please post photos of original configuration of HDD, remove HDD and show it's bay, then show M.2 SSD connector board area, then both M.2 connector board area along with HDD connected pic

Hi@visruth
Sorry I don't know how to post pictures to this post. If you could take the time to explain , I would really appreciate.
Have a nice day ahead

See this thread on how to post screenshot. Similar instruction, but browse for your photo folder and upload that instead: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/How-to-take-and-post-a-screensho...

As you can see, the ssd conection port is right next to the hdd( near the first ram )

Yes, Fahim. I saw the video at last.

It does only allows you to replace HDD with M.2 SSD by buying connector board for M.2 SSD and attaching it to the board.

It is wierd, because Manual says your model series has dual drive support.

Can I just replace the hdd with a 2.5 ssd? Without buying an ssd connector board for m.2 ssd? What would you recommend? Do i take out the hdd?( because 2tb isa lot of storage for me) or I just stay with the hdd and continue experiencing normal computer speeds
HP Recommended

Yes you can upgrade to 2.5 inch SATA SSD.

Samsung EVO SSD is what I would go for.
