HP 14-df0023cl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I just purchased an HP 14-df0023cl laptop today.  It says it comes with an M.2 128gb SSD.  I'd like to upgrade it to a larger one.  I can't seem to find whether I can get an NVME or if I have to get SATA.  Any advice would help before I purchase.

Thanks!

Hi,

Yes you can use the much faster M2 PCIe NVMe SSD or a M2 SATA3 SSD. They are both compatible with your system. You can also use a larger capacity than mentioned in service manual.

On page 41 of service manual you can see the steps to replace the solid state drive:

You will need to reinstall the OS on the new SSD by either using HP recovery USB, migrating an image or by downloading the media creation tool from Microsoft (before replacing drive), running and creating a bootable pendrive with the OS on it:

Service manual:

Let me know if you need further help,

David
