250 G6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

Today I opened my daughters 250 G6 to upgrade the ram and for my surprise I found this, an M.2 socket (pic below) which in the past I thought this model did not have one.

Can anybody advice me if its an NVME or normal speed M.2 2280 or does it matter which one i install?

Thanks in advanced 🙂

What is the CPU/Processor on your machine ? For an Intel Core processor (i3, i5, i7) machine, it supports BOTH NVMe and SATA 3 SSD's

Thank you for your prompt response,

The processor is the i5 7200U, but | noticed that the notch on the M.2 connector is on the left which the fast NVMe M.2 SSD's are on the right, so I have ordered the Lexar 256GB NM500 M.2 2280 NVMe SSD whcih has both notches left and right, it is the fastest I have have been able to find for this configuration, read and write speeds are 1650 MB/s and 950 MB/s respectively.

Hopefully it will work

Regards
