Microsoft Windows 11

Good day - please

I wants to upgrade my HP 15-bs000 Laptop PC

with n8gig ram and a m.2 SSD 512.

The people at my pc shop say I can not do it because it will be too hot for the M.2 and I need extra cooling.

If so what cooling can I put in.

Hi:

Only the notebooks with an Intel Core processor have a M.2 slot that supports SATA SSD"s only.

A SATA M.2 SSD will work fine in your notebook without the need of additional cooling.

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the supported drive types:

HP 15 Laptop PC (Intel)HP 15g Laptop PCHP 15q Laptop PC Maintenance and Service Guide

Only some NVMe M.2 SSDs may run too hot to cause heating issues in some model notebooks.

You won't have that problem with a SATA M.2 SSD.
