See p. 11 of the Manual here:
It says it has SATA M.2 but also allows an Optane module. An Optane module is nothing but a small capacity NVME/PCIe M.2 disk so we know it will take an NVME/PCIe M.2 disk so the socket is able to support either a SATA M.2 OR a PCIe/NVME kind.
