Ab516tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am using an ab516tx Pavillion laptop. I like to upgrade it with a 250gb SSD. I have few quires about the upgrade, will someone please help me out ?

1) Total memory support : Can my laptop support 500 GB SSD in combination with existing 1 TB hardisk ? Or how much total memory can be supported the laptop?

2) Is there a M2 slot availble for me to attach SSD ?

3) If going for a cd drive caddy to include existing Hardisk, which size should i choose ? (can u provide some compatible caddy ) ?

What will be the best SSD (M2 or SATA)  & caddy compatible with my laptop ?

Here is the Service Manual:

There is an M.2 slot according to the Manual but it is just not depicted. Instructions are on page 53. I also looked at some disassembly videos and I see no M.2 slot:

I don't think these guys making videos for Youtube understand how seasick it makes some people when they cannot hold the camera still.

The optical drive is 9.5 mm. Many options but here is one on amazon.com:

I think your best bet is to put a 2.5 inch SATA SSD in th emain hard drive slot and move the original hard drive to the optical slot.

Post back if you want to discuss further and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.
