Hi,
I have a HP Pavilion Laptop 15 with AMD Ryzen 5 Mobile 3500U.
I added 2 new memory cards in the 2 slots.
2x Kingston Fury (Micron) SO-DIMM 8GB DDR4-2666 CAS#Latency 14
It was 1x Samsung SO-DIMM 8GB DDR4-2666 CAS#Latency 19
My question is ... i saw in CPU-Z FSB:DRAM nosync. nosynch and DRAM Frequency: 933 MHz. Nosync? is that right?
Must it not be much higher than 933?
Some other info:

Hi:
I think the problem you have is that you installed memory with too fast a CL.
I'm surprised the notebook even booted up with CL14 memory.
You do not want to install performance memory in HP notebooks unless they came with that kind of memory from the factory.
You can't make any adjustments to the memory timing/XMP profile in the BIOS, so you are stuck with what you have.
Your notebook came with a standard memory chip with the standard CL of 19.
What you should see with the right memory installed is a DRAM frequency of around 1200 MHz.
The processor can only run the memory at a max speed of 2400 MHz, even though DDR4-2666 MHz memory is installed.
You want to buy one 8 GB standard memory chip to match it with the 8 GB Samsung chip you removed.
This one should work:

Thanks. I was thinking the lower CL the better 😊
And that nosync? Has that also to do with it?
I just bought the memory this week. I think i could return it.
That shop i bought it had only the Kingston ValueRAM 8 GB - PC4-21300 - SODIMM. Could that also do?
I read that 32GB the max is my HP can handle.
Can it be smart not to immediately put 2x 16GB or 1x 32GB in it? Or will I notice little between 16 and 32GB and that it's not worth its money?

You're very welcome.
If you were able to go into the BIOS and change the memory timing specs and whatnot, you would be right.
But since HP has locked the BIOS's down generally installing performance memory is a waste of money and may not even work at all.
And yes, I think the no sync issue is also related to the performance memory and the notebook's inability to handle it
Most notebooks will run fine with 2 x 8 GB of memory installed.
If you have the money, you can max it out to 32 GB if you want.
This would be a compatible 16 GB memory chip:
Crucial 16GB DDR4-2666 SODIMM | CT16G4SFRA266 | Crucial EU
You have one of those notebooks where it was designed to only use 5.9 GB out of 8 GB of memory correct?
Because of the Play Ready thing?
https://www.microsoft.com/playready/overview/
How much usable memory do you have with 16 GB installed?

It says now 13,9% with the 2x 8GB.
How it was with the 1x 8GB i don't know but mostly it got to 80 % use
Now with the 2x 8GB it is on 55%use and not doing much instead of some websites and task manager.
PS: PlayReady don't say me much by the way 😉

By the way. Do you know if my processor can be upgraded?
When i do Video Editing and at the moment i ging to produce my processor gets to 100%. Memory is around 47% and it will take 8 a 9 hours for a video of 1h15 (around 9000mb). Very anoying. Hoped more memory would help but that didn't help.

Unfortunately, neither the processor or graphics adapter can be upgraded unless you replace the motherboard with one listed in chapter 3 of your notebook's service manual that may come with a better hardware.
It would be very expensive to do that and probably would not provide a good return on your investment of time and money.
