HP Notebook - 15-dw0083wm
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello, I am working on a RAM upgrade for my laptop and I was just curious if there was a limited amount of MT/s or MHz that you could have on a RAM module before it is capped as there is a limit with the amount of expandable RAM your laptop/PC has.

Hi:

Below is the link to the product specs for your notebook.

HP Notebook - 15-dw0083wm Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support

Notebooks with the Intel® Pentium® Silver N5000 processors have one memory slot and according to the service manual and Intel, the slot can support up to 1 x 8 GB of DDR4-2400 memory.

Intel® Pentium® Silver N5000 Processor

Regarding the MT/S MHz, the fastest speed your notebook's processor can run the memory at is limited to 2400 MHz, the MT/S specs can be found on the Intel link I posted.

You can install DDR4-2666 MHz, or DDR4-3200 MHz (which may actually cost less than DDR4-2400), but the memory is going to bridge to 2400 MHz.
