Hi HP Folks,
I have a HP Spectre laptop, which is great. I only have two complaints:
(a) The USB-C power plug feels a little flimsy; and
(b) The pen doesn't attach with a magnet to the side of the laptop (would have been great).
For (a) I was wondering if anyone has any success/advice on any of those after market "magnetic adaptors" that would alleviate the "pressure" on the stock power plug socket. I've seen a few on Amazon and was wondering if anyone had any insight into one that works well for them. I appreciate that HP doesn't make something like this (would be great if they did though!) and wanted to see if anyone had any success here.
I know there is an older post on this topic: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Magnetic-Charger-Adaptor-for-H...
and the HP guys told me to post another one because it was so old.
Thanks for any advice you guys can share!
Best

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
This sounds like hardware related issue with the USB port and in order to fix this issue, your computer needs to be serviced. As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now.
I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options in order to diagnose the computer physically. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Please feel free to contact us here anytime you need any further assistance. Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

Echo_Lake, There's nothing wrong with the laptop. I'm trying to keep it that way by reducing the "pressure" on that USB-C power plug.
I know HP doesn't make what I'm describing, but I was wondering if anyone had found something (perhaps on Amazon) that worked well for them.
I note that in the post I referenced it seems the HP person sent the poster a private message with some potential options that might work - is there a way that could be shared?
Thanks

Thank you for posting back.
To get the answer to this question, Magnetic Adapter is not an option for HP laptops.
However, if your computer USB ports are loose, then to fix the issue computer needs to be serviced.

Echo_Lake,
It seems that you did not read my original post as your "advice" has been unhelpful.
In my original post I said:
"I appreciate that HP doesn't make something like this (would be great if they did though!) and wanted to see if anyone had any success here."
To be clear: I realize that HP doesn't make something like this, but I have seen some aftermarket solutions and was wondering if anyone had any success with any of them."
The reason why I thought one of the HP people might have relevant advice here is because in the older post Riddle_Decipher responded to someone that had a very similar question with the following:
I Understand you need assistance and I would love to help, however, the details you need to resolve this issue cannot be sent in public due to HP's privacy statement: Click here to learn more, that said, HP doesn't support using magnetic adapters as such, hence there's not a lot I have to say about it, however, you may want to check my private message to avail the assistance you need to fix this issue...
To the extent that Riddle_Decipher provided the original poster with advice that was helpful - all I'm asking is for that same advice.
What would be nice is if you were able to do a quick search on Amazon and tell me "This product looks like it will work" or at least give me some pointer as to what specifications to look for so that I can make sure whatever non-HP product I get has a higher chance of working.
Please let me know if this my question is not clear. I have tried to lay it out as simply as possible.
Thanks.
