HP Notebook - 14s-dq0500sa

I have an HP notebook - model 14s-dq0500sa - for which the mains cable between the adapter and PC has split. I'm trying to buy a new cable and am having some difficulty finding the correct one. The current adapter block has the following information:

Part No. L25296-002

Replace with HP Spare 741727-001

The only place I seem to be able to find anything using these part numbers are third-party suppliers. After my daughter set fire to her apartment using an adapter from a third-party supplier I've had some mistrust of them - particularly if this is the first time I've come across them.

When I searched on Google for a cable for the notebook part number, the UK HP Store offers this adapter but there's no way of checking if this is compatible with my device as there seems to be no consistency between the stated part numbers. HP Partsurfer confirms the Part No. above is correct but makes no mention of the number shown on the HP Store.

Can anyone advise please if the one on the UK HP Store is suitable.

Thanks in advance

Hi:

I agree that it would be best to buy a genuine HP charger.

You can buy the charger new from HP for 55 pounds.

It will not come with the power cord that goes from the wall socket to the charger.

HP Parts Store - HP Computer Parts - HP Printer Parts - Compaq Parts

Another option would be to search on eBay by the HP part number and buy a genuine used but tested and working HP charger.

Those will usually come with the power cord too.

741727-001: Search Result | eBay

One of those should cost much less than buying new.
