HP Split 13 X2 PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP 13 Split X2 touch. I just upgraded it to Win 10 and now it is so slow it's like being on dial-up. My internet is hardwired and rated @ 100Mbps. My configuration is included.

Is there anything I can do to speed it up?

Also, would I be able to add an SSD to it? Any ideas/suggestions appreciated.

Try updating the BIOS, chipset and ethernet drivers on the PC to latest version and check if it helps.

Note: Before uninstallation of the wireless drivers make sure your PC is connected via ethernet cable.

You can try updating the drivers on the PC using HP support assistant.

Go to device manager, under Network Adapters right click and select Ethernet adapter Properties, go to Power Management tab and untick Allow this computer to turn off this device.

You can run System maintenance troubleshooter and check if this helps.

  1. Press Windows + X keys on the keyboard and select Control Panel.

  2. Type Troubleshooting on the search bar on the Control Panel.

  3. Click on view all and click on System maintenance.

  4. Click on Advanced on the System maintenance dialog box and click on Run as administrator (Enter the credentials if required).

  5. Click on Next and follow onscreen instruction complete the System maintenance troubleshooter.

Also, try the steps recommended below.

In Windows, search for Command Prompt. In the search results, right-click Command Prompt and select Run as administrator. Then click Yes.
In Command Prompt, type sfc /scannow. Make sure to include the space between sfc and the /.
Press Enter and wait while System File Checker scans for corrupted files.
When scanning is complete, the results are displayed on the screen.

If the issue still persists after trying out the steps try running a system diagnostics on your PC and check if the hardware components on your PC are functioning correctly.
