HP Spectre x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This machine has been POS for awhile nothing in comparison to my MacBook Pro. But let’s start while in warranty I had sent in for screen becoming unable to read and jumbled screen. The laptop while on my lap would get hot while trying to work in Lightroom or other. The latest issue on top of all other that still occur is the bulged touchpad. Like I said out of factory warranty and then the fun started with same thing that it went out for repair. I believe last time it went out they replaced some boards but still got hot after.

@MissMyMac, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Apologies for the inconvenience caused. Let us try these steps to resolve this issue:

Does the Notebook heat up only while using Lightroom application?

Install updates using HP Support Assistant

  1. In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.
  2. Check for updates.
  3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Note: If you do not have HP Support Assistant installed, Click here to download the same.

Let us run a test on the hardware components of the PC

1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.

2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.

3. Perform System Test > Extensive test. Share the result on your next post.

Also, perform the steps mentioned in this document to Reduce Heat Inside the Laptop to Prevent Overheating

Let me know how this goes.
