HP Pavilion - 17t-ab200 CTO
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello everybody,

I would like to upgrade my memory, but before doing that I need to know how much memory is it possible to set.

Belarc Advisor

Running Belarc I got the following information:

Mother board information:

Board: HP 8219 83.48
Serial Number: PGHJQ018J910BM
Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
UEFI: Insyde F.38 05/24/2017

Memory Information:

7,89 Gigabytes Usable Installed Memory
Slot 'Bottom-Slot 1(left) ' is Empty
Slot 'Bottom-Slot 2(right)' has 8 GB (serial number 13C60000)

32 Gigabytes Maximum System Memory Capacity

c. Memory slot contents may not add up to Installed Memory if some memory is not recognized by Windows.
d. Memory slot contents is reported by the motherboard BIOS. Contact system vendor if slot contents are wrong.

HP Manual

Reading the documentation http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06001788.pdf

On page 13, I found the following  spec:

Supports up to 16 GB max
system memory with the
following:
● 4096 MB (4096 MB × 1)
● 8192 MB (4096 MB × 2) or
8192 MB (8192 MB × 1), no
support for 32-bit OS
● 12288 MB (8192 MB
+4096 MB), no support for
32-bit OS
16384 MB (8192 MB × 2),
no support for 32-bit OS or
Windows® 7 Home Basic

Since there is a difference between the two values, I was wondering which one should I rely on.

Thanks in advance, Alan

Hi, Alan:

What model Intel core processor does your notebook have?
