HP Pavlilion BC 514Tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi ALl,

I have HP Pavillion BC514TX. It is also shipped with 8GB RAM. I am wondering what is the max RAM capacity this model supports?

User manual say its 16 GB (8GB x 2).

But dmidecode 3.1 - a terminal command - gives following information

Maximum Capacity: 32 GB

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi:

Below is the link to the Crucial memory report for your notebook.

https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/pavilion-15-bc514tx

Crucial says you can install 2 x 32 GB of memory in there, so I see no reason why you couldn't install 2 x 16 GB.

HP often understates the amount of memory you can install in their notebooks.

My thought is that they only test them with certain memory capacities.
