Hi all. Prospective buyer here for the OMEN Laptop 17t-ck200 17.3" which I am comparing to some other platforms. Trying to determine the max load out for RAM. The order customization allows for max of 32 GB DDR5-4800 SDRAM (2 x 16 GB). I wondered what brand is included for this HP build and whether or not it can be upgraded to 64 GB at higher 5200MHz or is that the ceiling for the Intel® Core™ i7-13700HX (up to 5.0 GHz, 30 MB L3 cache, 16 cores, 24 threads) that comes in it?
Thanks everyone.

Hi BCal_TXFL.
HP offers NO official documentation (manuals, datasheets, etc) for the Omen 17inch Intel laptops that come with CPUs higher than Gen11. It's also a bit too soon to get a lot of feedback from users about these Raptor Lake systems. Thankfully, there is some information on this matter.
If you take a look at the OMEN 17-ck2000 and 17-cm2000 specifications page, you can see that it IS offered with 5600 RAM. However, this speed will only work if the laptop is fitted with the top tier CPU i9-13900HX. If the cheaper i7-13700HX is installed, RAM will only run at 4800. You can definitely install and work with 64GB DDR5 RAM on any of these systems, because this is what the previous Alder Lake generation of Omens supported. There is also a small chance that these laptops will support the full 128GB RAM as described in the Intel specs page. HP uses RAM modules of many different brands, depending on availability.
Surprisingly, you can read the review by someone that bought an i7 17-ck2000 from the HP Shop page, and has 64GB of 5600 RAM working as it should. This, to me, seems very unlikely due to the fact that the i7 specs give 4800 as the maximum speed supported. In my opinion, if you need the Omen to have 5600 RAM, you should make sure to get one with an i9 Raptor Lake CPU, either ck2000 or cm2000. I've seen Desktop Gaming Motherboards bypass the Intel RAM speed limits, but never on notebook systems. Everything points to the fact that the i7-13700HX systems have a ceiling of 4800 (and not 5200 or 5600) but will also be able to run with 64GB (at the very least). We'll probably have more intel on this matter during the following month(s).
