Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

My HP G62-225DX laptop has a 3GB RAM and its specs mentions the max RAM it supports is 8GB.

However W-7 can support more than 8GB RAM, and now you can have SODIM DDR3-1066 in 8GB module. There fore can I replace the 3GB RAM with 2 x 8GB so that I can have 16GB in my laptop?

Any advice?

david

Hi,

Official specs does not say DDR2 or DDR3:

And I trust HP manuals

@tjahjadi

No, it supports 8GB max (4GB + 4GB). The following RAM is compatible

Thanks for your advice.

The HP websites mention that the G62-225DX uses DDR3 RAM, but the Crucial website offering is DDR2. Who is correct?
