HP Compaq 8510P
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi team.

Am after some clarification. I have a HP Compaq 8510P notebook running Win 10 pro, 64bit. Now the CPU can support both 32bit & 64bit (being a 64bit cpu) & yes I've checked.

What I cannot figure out is the max. about I can install. I'm getting two (2) lots of conflicting infomation. It's either 4GB or 8GB.

Does anyone know how much this laptop can support? Or should I play it safe & just go 4GB?

It is a very old machine. Yes, it supports 8GB (2 x 4GB) of PC2-5300, 667-MHz, DDR2. You can use 2 pieces of

              4096-MB (PC2-5300, 667-MHz, DDR2) part # 598855-001

Regards.
