Hi:
Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates the max memory is 2 x 16 GB.
Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)
The crucial memory report for that model series indicates that 2 x 32 GB of memory is supported.
HP - Compaq HP OMEN 17-ck0000 | Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | Crucial.com
You can do this to see how much memory your notebook can support:
1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.
This will open the command prompt.
2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.
There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.
The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

Hey, thanks for the info. I don't own this laptop but I am looking to buy it.
In the 1st link, you send me I see "32 GB (16 × 2)". I guess this is the amount of RAM HP sells the laptop with.
The 2nd link is for model "ck0000" but the model I am looking at is "ck0003nu". This is kind of confusing to me.
Should I assume that model "ck0000" is something like a base model and that all other "ckxxxx" support 64GB RAM?

You're very welcome.
Yes, that is correct.
The 17-ck0xxx is the base model for the entire model series and whatever that report indicates would apply to all models.
Usually, the info from Crucial is right but when it goes against what the service manual indicates I always recommend running that windows command before buying more memory.

It would be nice if this particular model supports 64GB of RAM. It would be a big bummer if it does not accept the new 64 RAM when I try to upgrade it. The 64GB would be for future-proofing the laptop.
In any case thanks for the help.
