HP 15-ac186nl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I own an HP 15-ac186nl (product number: T8S64EA). Currently on the PC is installed a 4Gb RAM in the first slot but there is a second empty slot. I would like to know the maximum value of RAM supported by the PC.

Thanks.

Well yes but don't be confused. DDR3L-1600 is actually 800 MHZ memory....the 1600 is based on double data rate.

If you put an identical specification 4 gb module in the open second slot you will have 8 gigs total running in dual channel mode:

Max is 16 gigs (2 x 8 gig modules) of DDR3L-1600 SO-DIMM. Since you have been inside and looked I will not provide an image of the memory slots, but you are advised to look at the 4 gig module and determine if you have a single rank architecture or dual rank on the little black memory blocks on the side of the Manual and purchase any memory modules you need based on that. HPs generally prefer dual rank configuration modules like this:

Thank you for your answer Huffer, I scanned the PC with CPU-Z and it says that I have a single rank architecture and the RAM frequency is 800MHz. If I want to have 8Gb of RAM I have to insert in the second slot a 4Gb module with 800MHz frequency and single rank architecture?
