Hi, I was wondering what is the max RAM you can have on a HP Pavilion Gaming 15-dk2000 Laptop PC.
I now have 2x8 but it's not enough for me, so I wanted to upgrade it. Initially, I was thinking of having 2x16, then I thought it would be better to have 1x16 and 1x32, but I don't know what the limit is, so I am still wondering what to buy, and if it would work if I buy it.

Hi:
HP only has the service manual for the older15-dk0000 model series.
HP Pavilion 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop PC 15-dk2000 - Setup and User Guides | HP® Support
According to chapter 1 of the manual, the notebook can support a max of 2 x 16 GB of memory.
If you want to see if your notebook will support more than 2 x 16 GB of memory, you can run this command:
1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.
This will open the command prompt.
2. After the command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the enter key.
There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.
The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.

Thank you, I did what you suggested and it said it has a max capacity of 32 GB, after all, I will have to stitch up to 2x16 which is no problem for me too. If I can ask another thing I will be very delighted. About the RAM, I was wondering which one is the one I should buy, this one: Памет 16GB DDR4 3200 Apacer - AS16GGB32CSYBGH AS16GGB32CSYBGH - на топ цена — Ardes.bg or this one: RAM Памет Apacer 16GB Notebook Memory - DDR4 SODIMM 3200MHz ︽ Онлайн на цена 69.00 лв. - AS16GGB32CS...
The specs for both are:
Memory:Type:Frequency:
16 GB | |
DDR4 | |
3200 MHz |
The problem is in the names I don't know if they both can be used on my model, and in general if they are compatible with a laptop. The name of the first one is: RMA 16GB DDR4 3200 Apacer - AS16GGB32CSYBGH and the name of the second one is: RAM Apacer 16GB Notebook Memory - DDR4 SODIMM 3200MHz.

They have the same specs, but i don't know if they are both for laptop, and if they will be of any use to me.
