I bought a new Omnibook in May. I turned on Maximize Battery Heath on Day 1 and it's never been above 80%. Suddenly today I saw that it was 92%. How and why? I rechecked the setting and Maximize Battery Health is still on.

@s1aori, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Maximize Battery Health Setting and Unexpected Battery Charge Levels!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
When you have the Maximize My Battery Health setting enabled, your HP notebook is set to limit the full charge capacity to 80% in order to optimize battery health and prevent battery swelling caused by high state-of-charge levels. Despite this setting, there can be variations in the charge level due to several reasons:
Software Updates and Changes: Occasionally, updates to the BIOS or software settings may temporarily override or adjust the battery health settings. Check if any recent updates were applied that might affect battery management settings.
Battery Calibration or Reset: Sometimes, a battery may undergo calibration or reset due to the system's power management scenarios, particularly if it has been connected to AC power for extended periods. This could cause the battery charge level to temporarily exceed the intended cap.
Environmental Factors: Variations in temperature and usage patterns might impact battery performance, leading to exceptions in the battery charge levels.
If you are certain that the Maximize My Battery Health setting is still enabled, the battery should return to the specified charge level after completing the current discharge cycle and connecting back to AC power. However, if the battery continues to exceed 80% regularly, it might be worth checking for any overridden settings or potential software glitches.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
