Maximum RAM Capacity for HP 17 - cp0113nf

Hello,

I am about to buy an HP and I would like to learn the maximum RAM capacity of HP 17 - cp0113nf (AMD Ryzen 7 5700U). It comes with 16 GBs of installed RAM (2 x 8), but I have no idea what is the maximum capacity it can be upgraded it to. Thanks in advance for any help.

Many users here including myself have installed 32GB of ram. My 5700U HP laptop shows 32GB in the test listed below.

You can go here https://www.crucial.com/store/crucial-advisor-trust and look up compatible ram for your laptop.

Alternatively, Windows users can determine the maximum RAM capacity in the Command prompt (Run as Administer) with the command here- "wmic memphysical get MaxCapacity" without the quotes and divide the value by 1024 That will give you the total amount supported by your laptop.

Be advised that HP likes memory with relaxed timings, like the vanilla Crucial modules, or Samsung, SK Hynix modules work well. Don't buy any modules labeled as Performance ram, as there are no adjustments you can make in bios for timings.

Thanks for your reply. In fact I don' have that laptop yet, I am considering to buy it. I indeed went to the web page of Crucial but they don't have HP 17- cp0113nf listed yet, that is why I had to ask the question here. If you have the HP 17- cp0113nf with 32 GB of installed RAM then I have my answer.

You're very welcome.

That is correct.

You can always do this to confirm after you receive the notebook...

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
