Hi,
The service manual mentions max as being 16GB of DDR4 2400Mhz RAM (2x8GB)
However HP DDR4 systems will run with 32GB of RAM (2x16GB), so that would be the actual max. There are two slots and at the moment you have one slot with a 8GB stick and one empty slot.
On page 40 of service manual you can see the steps to replace/upgrade RAM
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05493193
Now for storage. If you want to replace the 2.5" mechanical drive with a different mechanical drive, the limit is going to be 2TB because of the thickness of the drive (max 9.5mm). Larger capacity mechanical drives are thicker. If you are going to install a 2.5" SSD or M2 SSD there is no limit, well maybe the cost of the drive.
Hope it helps,
David
