So I'm looking to up grade my RAM. Curently have 6gb (2x4) and for what I'm doing, it's no longer getting the job done. I've looked all over for information on how much this model's (15t-n200) motherboard can handle. 16gb of RAM would be enough, but I'd like to see how much it can take before I make any upgrades. And of course there's almost no info on the max amount of memory this model can handle.

Here's the Manual:
15t-n200 says its Intel but it is a Custom to Order model so could have different configurations. The Manual says 12 gigs maximum (8 + 4) but we have had lots of folks with that model series report success with 16 gigs. It will in no event be any more than 16 gigs.
Its an easy upgrade with an access door on the back side.

12 would probably be enough, however more is better and also easier to purchase 8x8 rather than 6x4 from what I've seen online. What are the chances of 16 not working? And if it does not, what are the potetial issues I could see happening as a result of too much RAM? Is there any more info I can give to get a better idea?

I am about as sure as I can be (never 100% but close) that 16 will work. If it does not the system will just not POST.
You can help the odds by getting memory listed as compatible with the HP Part number I gave you. Low density (8 black blocks on the side of the module) works better on most HPs.
I would not try to do 12 gigs. 8 is likely better because a 4 and a 4 will run in dual channel where an 8 and a 4 will not. An 8 and an 8 will.
